Synopsis
The shallow field of low pressure lies over the Adriatic and it will be filling up slowly, while the ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the northwest.
Weather forecast for the Adriatic for the first 12 hours
S and SW winds 10-20, in places up to 26, in the North Adriatic NE winds gradually strengthening to 18-32, south of Istria up to 38 knots. Sea increasing to 3-4, in the North Adriatic in the evening to 4-5. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers with thunder.

In the North Adriatic NE winds further strengthening to near gale and gale force, in the Velebit Channel up to storm force, gradually spreading to the Central Adriatic. In the South Adriatic still moderate to strong SE and SW winds. Sea slight and moderate, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic rough, in the open possibly up to very rough. Variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder, along the coast of the North Adriatic with a chance of a little snow.
