IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL, LATE IN THE NIGHT IN THE REST OF THE ADRIATIC, GUSTS OF NE WINDS STRENGTHENING TO 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 55, AND IN THE OPEN SEA OF NW WINDS AROUND 35 KNOTS. IN THE FAR SOUTH OF THE ADRIATIC AT FIRST STILL GUSTS OF S and SW WINDS 35-45 KNOTS. A RISK OF THUNDERSTORMS.

The ridge of high pressure is extending over the Adriatic from the northwest, while the low with frontal system is shifting from the southern part of the Tyrrhenian Sea eastwards.

NE winds 6-16, toward the open sea NW 10-20, in the North and in a part of the Central, late in the night elsewhere as well, NE winds strengthening to 12-22, in the Velebit Channel up to 28, and in the open sea NW up to 24 knots. In the far south of the Adriatic at first still S and SW winds 15-30 knots. Sea 2-3, toward the open and in the South, then along the coast of the northern part of the Adriatic, 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Mainly cloudy with scattered rain and with a chance of isolated rain showers with thunder, particularly in the South Adriatic. Also a little wind drifted snow is possible under the slopes of Velebit. Partial clearing will follow in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic toward the end of the day and during the night.

Moderate and fresh, in the North Adriatic strong, and in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE winds. In the open sea during the night still moderate to fresh, in places up to strong NW winds. Sea slight and moderate. Partial clearing is expected in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic, while some rain, showers and thunder are still possible at first, mainly in the southern part of the Adriatic.
