A trough with a frontal system is approaching the Adriatic from the west.
Weather forecast for the Adriatic for the first 12 hours
SE, late in the day in the South Adriatic also S winds 18-34, midday locally up to 40 knots whereas late in the day in the North Adriatic turning to SW wind and gradually decreasing. The sea 3-4, intensifying to 4-5, in the second part of the day locally 6. Visibility 10-20 km, locally reduced to about 4 km due to mist and in places possibly reduced to less than 1 km due to fog, mostly in the North Adriatic. More intense cloud increase bringing rain, rain showers and thunder, first in the North, till end of the day in the rest of the Adriatic as well.

In the North Adriatic moderate to strong SW, in the rest of the Adriatic strong to gale force SE and S winds whereas at night decreasing and turning to SW wind, except in the far south. The sea moderate to rough, locally very rough but during the night calming to slight to moderate in the North and Central Adriatic. Variably cloudy with occasional rain, rain showers and thunder.
