Synopsis
A ridge of high pressure from the north lies over the Adriatic, while a low will be gradually shifting from the Tyrrhenian towards the Ionian Sea.
Weather forecast for the Adriatic for the first 12 hours
NE winds strengthening to 18-34, in places up to 38, and in the Velebit Channel up to 48 knots. Sea increasing to 4-5. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain or snow, particularly in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic, while thunder is possible mainly toward the open sea.

Strong to gale force, in the Velebit Channel up to storm force, NE winds, expected to ease a little in the North Adriatic toward midday. Sea moderate and rough. Gradual clearing is expected, while snow is still likely in the South and in part of the Central Adriatic at first, and a chance of thunder toward the open sea.
